TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
"The intention of music is not only to please the ear, but to express sentiments, strike the imagination, affect the mind, and command the passions." - Francesco Geminiani, 1751
For me, teaching the violin is not just about playing the correct notes on time; it’s about equipping students with the tools necessary to express themselves and apply these skills in other aspects of life. It’s about understanding the science of nature, harmony, and balance, not only in the physical world but also on an emotional and internal level.
For young students, helping them establish a balanced posture and lay a foundation for future endeavors is crucial. Whether it’s performances for friends and family, concerts, orchestra and college auditions, or competitions, a strong foundation is key.
